Alice is adorably sweet. Although young, she is motherly and nurturing, especially to some of the younger children. She very rarely is found near trouble and is actually more of a trouble deterrent.
Technically, his name is “Choice,” but nobody calls him that. He’s Pudgy because… he’s Pudgy (or at least he was when he was little). This boy radiates joy. He loves to play and will erupt into laughter with even the slightest bit of attention.
Godgift is sharp. In fact, he has been recruited by other schools to join their quiz teams because he is so smart. He is currently attending NVTI as a college student.
A goober (or at least some kind of nut). J-Girl (Jenneh) is always laughing, batting her hands in the air (seemingly embarrassed, but too amused to care), or poking fun at her friends. She’s sweet, sarcastic, and hilarious. (Pictured with Kenzie, her sponsor)
Omegar will fool you with his rugged demeanor. At first, he might seem reclusive and uninterested. But get to know him and you will find a sweet protector and a compassionate man. He is currently attending BWI studying auto mechanics.
Hawa is the little sister of Famata and she has an incredibly sweet spirit and is good friends with Patience. She is gentle and has a soft and sensitive personality. Her tenderness will melt your heart.
Sa’ah is the definition of “chill.” He can commonly be found lounging on a bamboo bench or just hanging out with some of the boys listening to music. But don’t be fooled, when it’s time to work, he is not afraid to hop right in. He is currently attending BWI as one of our college students
Teta, the twin sister of Dawo, is cool. Like, really cool. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day and is currently studying biology at AUWA with Jeremiah. She is pictured here with her sponsor, Kamilla.
Rufus is the life of the party. Play music and he will hear it from across the community and come to join the dance party. He dreams of one day being a DJ.
Calm, easy-going, and light-hearted, Nelly is the glue that holds social groups together. She is at Conduit of Potential trade school studying tailoring and decoration.
This boy is growing into a man. Emmanuel is at the age where he is transitioning to maturity, and we see him growing in areas of responsibility and tact. He is super helpful and always fun to have around.
Isaac is much quieter than his younger brother, Moses, but he is equally as kind and equally as driven. He is following in his brother's footsteps at BWI.
Joshua (Bugie) has the unique ability to make an entire room fall in love with him in a matter of seconds. If there is a microphone, it's probably in his hands and everyone is probably laughing. Look for him in the Too Much Laughter comedies on social media. Bugie is a college student learning music theory.
Mariah is sweet and fun with a hint of quirk. She can switch from quiet and reserved to loud and playful in a moment's notice.
David is a college student waiting to begin trade school. He is always “fresh” and is hard working. Recently, he won the holiday eating contest and earned quite the reputation for it!
Ma-B has one of the sweetest spirits. She is gentle, quiet, and tender. It's hard not to adore her. She is known for having little quirks or activities she'll perform when she thinks nobody's watching.
Just seeing pictures of Emmanual Gargar makes us smile. He is warmth. His laugh is unmistakable and he is mature beyond his years. He dreams of becoming an electrician after graduating from high school.
After suffering for years from epileptic seizures, her sponsorship pays for her medication, which has rescued her from hardly coherent to a productive mother and friend. Now, she is able to laugh, care for her boy (Prince), and even help Henrietta cook everyday.
Ninte is the daughter of the late Ruth Kollie and resembles her 100%. She is affectionate yet tough, sweet with a hint of sass. Everyone loves her. Everyone.
George is a college student waiting to start school. He is genuine, serving, and a wonderful companion. He is full of energy and exudes humility
Dawo is the twin sister of Teta. She is a healthy balance of strong and sensitive. She was president of her high school class and she is currently studying criminal justice at AME Zion University with the dream of one day becoming a lawyer.
We have watched Blessing grow from a playful little girl to a confident young woman. She is calm and happy and can often be found carrying one of the smaller children on her hip.
"Boy Robert" is cute but tough. He is currently in the growing process, as he transitions from a little boy to a young man (though he can often be easily located by his signature, raspy voice). He is under Davidline’s care, and she is doing a wonderful job raising him.
Denyuwah has a bright, wide-eyed smile that exudes authentic happiness. He is well-behaved and a very welcome presence around smaller children, as he controls them well. He mainly stays with Alexander, who is his functional father.
Robert Zoyou’s little brother, Joe, is a soft-spoken, kind-hearted boy. He is studying the Bible at the Baptist seminary and dreams of becoming a pastor. The children already refer to him as Reverend Joe, and he helps pastor the church plant located at the home.
Alice is a driven presence among the younger girls. She is confident and strong, but still exhibits a sweet tenderness. Her laugh and warm smile will melt your heart.
Barnue is a college student currently studying to become a teacher. He takes his studies seriously, but is always smiling. Usually you can find him around the yard if you just follow his laugh.
Lela is African Boho, if such a thing even exists. She is a free spirit that just wants to be by your side all day enjoying the ride of life. She loves a good conversation and isn't afraid to ask hard questions.
Patience is a cousin of Hana, who takes excellent care of her. Patience is affectionate and sweet. Her tender demeanor will leave an unmistakable mark on your heart.
Wise beyond his years, AB is a thoughtful, helpful boy who is always looking out for you. When he isn't by your side, he's usually running an errand for you. He is a vivid storyteller who loves to wear “fresh” clothes and is a loyal friend.
Nilmark is a college student at the University of Liberia. He is smart, composed, and professional and will almost certainly excel in whatever position he finds himself.
Samuel was recently added to our sponsorship as the need arose. He lives in the surrounding community. He is quiet and laid back. He is an excellent student and is in the 11th grade. In the community, he is known as "Survivor" because he has trouble walking, but hasn't ever let that stop him!
Deborah is a college student studying public health at the University of Liberia. She is extremely intelligent and caring. She is driven and loves to learn.
Sallah is a recent high school graduate who is waiting to start his college journey. He is cool, fun, and quiet (save the occasional outbursts of shear personality).
Tinnah is a girl who lives in another county, but whose sponsorship was advocated for by Peter, one of our older boys. The older children have begun finding others who are very much in need so that we can include them in our program and we think that’s pretty cool!
David is a recent high school graduate who is waiting to begin school. He is quite smart, and he was president of his senior class. He is determined and hard working.
Richard is a pre-school student who has recently come under the care of the sponsorship and lives with Davidline in the community. He is president of his class and has come so far socially and educationally since arriving.
Felecia lives in the community and is an absolutely blast to have around. She is smart, hilarious, and a is phenomenal singer. Seriously. If Liberia's Got Talent becomes a thing, she should be first in line! Felicia is a 12th grade student who was recently added to our program as the need arose.
Amos is an 11th Grade student. He is a great football (soccer) player and is generally composed and fun to have around.
Samuel is an 11th grade student who is jam-packed with energy. He is confident, assertive, and loves to be part of the action wherever action is happening.
Joseph is a mostly quiet boy who loves to play. He is caring and can often be found right by your side, saying nothing but ready if you need him. He is a 6th grade student who is playful and rarely in trouble.
Nene is a 5th grade student who is extremely playful and tender.
Roseline is the quieter twin sister of Rose. She has a delicate spirit and is one of the sweetest people you'll meet. Here, she is pictured with her sponsors, Gwen and Sean.
Emera is a brilliant boy who wakes up early every morning to listen to the BBC. He is attending Cuttington University, which is the top university in Liberia. He is studying resource management and is incredibly motivated and driven.
Beauty is…well…beautiful. But not just her appearance. She is a genuinely happy girl who is both nurturing and composed. Davidline has cared for Beauty since she was a baby, and it shows in the ways she shares in Davidline’s strength and determination.
Jartu lives in another county, but was brought into the program through the advocacy of Peter. Some of our older kids have begun finding others in need so that we can offer them the same help they received, and we think that’s pretty cool!
Abel is a blossoming teenager in just about every way. He is strong, assertive, and loves a good joke. He also loves to cook and always seems to be wearing a faint smile that he masks behind teenage toughness.
Prince is Ruthy's son. He is an intense boy who loves to help out. He is curious and asks plenty of questions, always studying his surroundings. He is cautious and observant and can always be seen playing with his best friends, Youto and Pudgy.
Shadrach is a brilliant kid who is a fantastic debater. Legend has it that his unanswerable question to Dawo's opponent during the presidential debates helped her seal the presidential election at the school. He is handy and is often working on some little building project.
Vera is an integral part of the girl's social life at the home. She is mostly cool, but occasionally she lets her guard down, and you get to see the little goofball she can be.
Alexander's little boy, Youto, is never not emotional. He is either crying, full of joy, or intensely playing (usually the latter). He is best friends with Pudgy and Prince and is absolutely full of little boy energy.
Hannah is a joy to be around. She has a big grin and it’s not uncommon to see it. Her principled personality couples perfectly with her playful sass, making her a loyal, fun, and genuine friend. She is currently studying finance at TSAP and is set to graduate soon, after which she will be a candidate for resettlement.
One of the spunkier younger boys. James is the older brother of Ma-B. He is often featured in Theo’s comedies and is an exceptional actor. He is confident and cool. What is he holding in this picture and where did he get it? We have no idea.
Ruth passed away on January 11, 2020. She was attending nursing school and nearing her graduation. She leaves her daughter, Ninte, in the care of the sponsorship and the older girls, who are determined to give Ninte the best care they can. Ruth was a hard working student, a fantastic mother, a loving daughter, and a wonderful friend. To read personal notes on her passing, click on the picture.
Mickey is a college student waiting to begin school very soon. He is extraverted, polite, and loves football (soccer).
Princess has a gigantic smile and she’s not afraid to use it. She is hilarious. If you want to relate to her, just come up with an inside joke and she’ll bring it up whenever she sees you. She is passionate and kind.
n ten years, it wouldn't be hard to imagine Rose starting a children's home of her own. She already cares for so many of the children and is always first to volunteer on the days when the cook is sick. She’s a kind girl and genuinely just a good person. She is in the 11th grade.
Theo is a college student studying IT. He is the founder of the comedy group “Too Much Laughter,” which often features hilarious skits with an impactful message. He is the technological brain of the home and has a laid back personality that is fun and flexible. Around the city, he is a mini celebrity, due to his comedies. He is pictured here with Corey, his sponsor.
It’s incredible that we have a picture of Princess that is this clear and close. She is always running around the yard and playing with the other children. She hates the camera and is quite shy. However, she has started to become a young lady recently and has offered the opportunity for more serious conversations.
Marthaline is a college student waiting to begin her classes. She lives in the surrounding community and has just recently come under our sponsorship program.
Famata is an incredibly sweet girl who is a talented musician. She plays the trumpet and can often be heard practicing in the yard. She is extremely smart and gifted.
Cyrus is a college student who was just recently added to our program and is waiting to begin school. He is caring and calm.
Listing all of his nicknames would take a paragraph, but as is the case with most who are easy to nickname, Obediah has a lot of personality. He is a night owl who is quiet during the day but comes to life at night as he dances, jokes, and hangs out with his best friends, Barmo and Romeo. He is currently a college student studying IT at Starz.
Christian is a college student who was recently added to our program and is waiting to begin school. He is hard working and determined.
Joseph is a mostly quiet boy who loves to play. He is caring and can often be found right by your side, saying nothing but ready if you need him. He is Princess’ little brother, and their personalities are oddly similar.
Gormah is a 12th grader who was just recently added to our sponsorship program. She is at the top of her class. Currently, she lives with Davidline and is very intelligent and responsible.
Peter Mulbah is in college studying construction. He recently got married to Comfort and has a daughter named Sophina. He is the Assistant Dean for the boys and is a genuinely kind and considerate person who is incredibly loyal and giving.
Faith is a spunky little girl who absolutely loves to play. Her presence demands attention, and obliging that demand is always fun in one way or another.
Saydah is playful and sweet. She can usually be found in the front of the home with her market, selling bread, candy, gari, and cookies.
Romeo has the maturity of a grown man with the energy of a youth. He is trustworthy, sincere, and reliable and loves staying up late talking. He is part of a special program at BWI where he is studying a trade while completing high school.
Garpul is cool. Very cool. He has a competitive spirit and can be found very much invested in a heated game of checkers or Ludo, but for the most part he is calm, collected, and confident. He can often be spotted sitting under a tree just reading and enjoying the day.
Faith is sweet, gentle, and fun. She has a good heart and would probably be voted "least likely to aggravate you." She is an interesting combination of extroverted and bashful.
Abligar is a college student at Stella Maris Polytechnic studying architecture. He is calm, collected, and cool. He is a talented artist and is liked by everyone.
Grace is a college student currently waiting to start school. She is helpful, sweet, and always fun to have around.
One of the older boys, Momo is incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and handy. He is a phenomenal builder and isn’t afraid to work hard into the late hours of the night. He is in college at TSAP studying civil engineering, which has been his dream for a long time.
